| Benefiting Agencies Helping Hands Homeless Shelter: Provides twenty-four hour emergency shelter and more than 51,000 meals to homeless and low income people every year. Provides life-skills training, job training, and counseling services, helping about 150 residents each year find jobs or housing. Volunteer Caregivers: Enables limited income, frail, elderly and/or disabled persons over age 55 to remain in their homes with independence and dignity, by providing transportation and grocery shopping assistance, friendly visiting, and assistance with correspondence. Pastoral Counseling Center of the Mid- Willamette Valley: Provides quality & affordable individual & family counseling and psychotherapy to anyone in need of services, regardless of ability to pay – creating opportunities for healing for all. Fish of Albany, Emergency Services: Provide temporary assistance to persons in need: including food boxes, clothing, prescription medication, gasoline vouchers and bus tickets, utility and rent assistance, emergency shelter and transitional housing. 36 years of service to Albany. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Linn County: Provides specially trained volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children under the protection of the Linn County Juvenile Court on allegations of neglect or abuse. Advocates help ensure that safe, permanent families are found for these children. Linn-Benton Mediation Services: Provides alternative dispute resolution where people can come together with a trained mediator, in a safe and neutral environment, and talk about solutions to their conflicts – including family, neighborhood, workplace and victim offender mediation. Serves about 800 people per year. |
